The Journey – Wave 2 & Why

This post is about Wave 2 in the Wave Running Journey to 100 Miles 20-week training program.

These notes apply to The Journey to 100 Miles as I prepare to run the Feral Pig 100 Mile Ultra on the Bibbulmun Track near Perth, WA.

As much as possible, the notes are generally applicable to any Wave 2 in a Wave Running Training Program.

Wave 2’s in the Stock Market

According to Elliott Wave Theory, Wave 2’s in the stock market usually retrace most of the Wave 1 move. They are also generally short and often end with very low volume and volatility.

Wave Running Wave 2’s

As Wave Running parallels the Elliott Wave Theory, Wave 2’s are also relatively short and have a reasonable pull-back from the activity in Wave 1. This means training volumes are reduced, and intensity is lowered to match the characteristics of Elliott Waves.

So Wave 2’s give our body a rest after the commencement of activities in Wave 1, helping us to be ready for the next wave, the powerful Wave 3.

Training Intensity

Just as the Elliott Wave Theory has guidelines, Wave Running also has guidelines. In Wave Running, these guidelines relate to training intensity.

For more information about intensity, and how it applies in Wave Running for Wave 2’s, please see the related blog on Volume and Intensity.

My Why?

The YouTube video that relates to this blog post contains a bonus story, where I describe what motivates me to run – my why! I get my inspiration from many people – some past – some present – some I know – some I don’t. If some of the things I do or say inspire you to bigger and better things, then I will be happy to have passed on what was passed to me!

So if you haven’t seen the YouTube video and my why story, just click on the video link above to check it out.

And if you’re enjoying my stories and my journey, please subscribe to the YouTube Channel if you haven’t already.

Also, feel free to share my content with others who might appreciate it.

And after all that – just keep going! 🙂
